In order to further promote technical exchanges and promote the craftsman spirit of excellence, on January 17, 2024, the Pustar Product Management Department organized the sixth "Pustar Cup" Glue Skills Competition. Different from previous competitions, this competition divides contestants into rookie groups and senior groups. Among them, the rookie group registration covers all employees of the company; employees from the R&D Center, Product Management Department, and Quality Engineering Department join the senior group to participate in the competition. As soon as the event notice was sent out, it received a positive response from the majority of employees, who used their free time to prepare carefully for the competition.
The preliminary round mainly tests the contestants' mastery of conventional performance testing procedures, and the content of the competition is highly operable and closely related to the actual work. The preliminary round of the rookie group is divided into four items: cutting the nozzle, applying the adhesive strip, applying the bonding, and scraping the test piece; the preliminary round of the senior group is also divided into four items, namely cutting the nozzle, applying the cylindrical adhesive strip, applying the triangular adhesive strip, and scraping the test piece. In the finals, the level of difficulty escalated. The rookie group made cutting samples and I-shaped parts; the senior group competed through edge trimming and application of automotive glass glue. This session focused on evaluating sample production and practical applications. Precision and proficiency, that is, the quality and efficiency of the player's performance, must be tested at the same time.
Thanks to the daily skills training, or the exposure and mutual communication at work, each contestant was able to operate in an orderly manner and in one go in every competition link, which fully demonstrated the comprehensive and solid professional skills of Pustar people.
After a fierce competition in practical skills, a total of 8 players from the rookie group and senior group stood out. The contestants' strict control over every craft and detail perfectly interpreted the purpose of the glue-making competition to "promote the spirit of craftsmanship".
